As you know, I spent Christmas on my favourite island Cozumel in Mexico, again. We dived there for more than three weeks and also tried out some restaurants in Cozumel. It is definitely time for a Best of post with my favourite restaurants in Cozumel today!
You're not sure what dishes to try? I've gathered my favourite Mexican dishes here.
Avenida 5, Calle 6 Norte
This restaurant is known for its amazing shrimp fajitas! We went to La Candela several times a week and I always ordered the shrimp fajitas! The guacamole and mojitos here are among the best on Cozumel.
El Chino Marinero
Av Lic Benito Juárez between Avenida 20 and 25 or Avenida 20, Calle 1 Sur
When it comes to fish tacos, there is no getting around El Chino Marinero on Cozumel. This little eatery serves of the best tacos in Mexico!
Parque Benito Juarez – main square
Although this place seems to be VERY touristy, it has excellent ceviches. I also ordered fish once – but I wasn't all that impressed by it.
Avenida 15, between Calle 3 sur and Calle Dr Alfonso Rosado Salas
Here you get to choose from lots of different variations of tacos and quesadillas, which taste very good!
Avenida 5, Calle Dr Alfonso Rosado Salas
If a bit touristy, but the tacos here are really good and they have huge plates with different taco combinations for sharing on their menu. The cocktails here are huge.
Avenida 10 between Calle 3 sur and Calle Dr Adolfo Rosado Salas
This place gets really busy around lunch time – and rightly so. They offer not only really good soups, but also tacos, quesadillas, fajitas and everything else your heart desires.
Avenida 5, between Calle 2 and Calle 4
Burritos Gorditos serves plenty of delicious burritos – vegetarian options can be found too. And if you feel like a burrito in the morning, you will be pleased: they have breakfast burritos on their menu!
Avenida 5, Calle 5
The Prime 5 is one of the upscale restaurants on Cozumel. The prices are higher than anywhere else in the centre, but the food is really good and everyone deserves a treat from time to time.
Avenida 65 bis, Calle 10 Norte
La Perlita is famous for its fish dishes. Sometimes they offer fresh lionfish – yummy!
Don't miss out on the other fish served in a coconut batter – simply amazing!
