Clean, located in a quiet part of Hallstatt, but less than 10 minutes by foot from the town center. There’s a place to park in front of the hotel to unload. P1 is nearby for longer term parking (18€/24 hours). The owner has a list of recommended places to eat (and recommendations for places to avoid), and gave additional ideas for where to go nearby. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was good and varied (vegetarian/vegetable options were available too) This is a family run business. Reception isn’t on premises 24/7, so it’s a good idea to call or message in advance with time of arrival.

We loved the room and the location. The beds were very comfy, and there were no disturbances from other rooms. The room was clean and tidy, and the bathroom was also spotless. We had a great view overlooking the lake, which was amazing. Check-in was also perfect. We had a hassle-free stay.

Location was perfect, close walking distance to everything but on a quiet street. The balcony was very nice and big. The host was so friendly and accommodating, they let us check in early and leave our car parked there after check out as well.

Living History isn't just a place to stay. It's an experience. How many people can say they've stayed in a medieval mill with an entrance to an ancient salt mine in their bathroom? Everything about this place is magical, and every detail is steeped in history. Even the key to the front door is from the 16th century. The location can't be beat as the apartment is just off the town square where the ferry docks. Lorenzo is such a kind host. He met us in the square and gave us a wonderful tour of the apartment, sharing tidbits and stories about the history behind its walls. The floors in the apartment are heated, as well, which was greatly appreciated during our winter stay. If you're in Hallstatt for a night, don't miss out on this unique adventure!
