Around the world in 72 days

My dear wanderlusters, travellers, lovers of the unknown and adventurers!

I am very proud and honoured to announce that I will be going on my first round the world trip this summer!

This trip will be the biggest and longest ongoing trip for me so far! I am super excited and can’t wait to share all my experiences, learnings, failures, photos (+Dirndl) and videos with you!

How come?

Last December I made a video for a contest run by Marco Polo Germany. I thought I never had the chance of making it far. But there was hoping!

This little video literally changed my life! After some months of uncertainty I got an email saying that I was in the next round – amongst the 5 finalists! Whoooop! What a great feeling!

What followed was a casting with some really, really important and amazingly nice people at the ITB in Berlin which is the biggest travel fair in the world!
Tons of questions and thoughts were discussed and exchanged. We talked for over an hour and then they said that they would let me know.

Then one lovely morning an email came flying into my inbox with the following message:

Dear Viktoria,

finally we can let you know! We have made our decision! You are going on a round the world trip for Marco Polo!!! You convinced us with your congenial, open manner and we look forward to working together on this project with you! :-))

Oh my gosh! I made it! I am a girl with a dream, well many dreams, a passion for life, and a strong believe that good things happen to good people! Karma!

She believed she could. So she did!

I have been wanting to share my news with you for so long, I just could not keep the secret to myself any longer! This summer is going to be the ultimate adventure!

72 days 10 Countries on 5 continents

I’m not gonna spoil the exact destinations for you – not yet! But I can tell you the continents that I will be visiting are: Starting in Europe, then Africa, Asia, Australia and North America and returning to Europe.

I will be documenting my journey on my own blog, on the Marco Polo website, youtube channels, TV channels and of course my social media channels. You can follow my RTW trip with the hashtag #DirndlRTW and #TraumWeltReise

I’m gonna start my epic journey on August 1 of this year and arrive at my first destination on August 2!
