Nothing but relaxing | Almwellness Hotel Pierer Teichalm

There are places that seem almost magical because they have such a strong charisma. Hectic, stress and to-do lists do not exist there, or at least they have lost their meaning.

There are places that radiate calm and serenity. Doldrums and malaise are foreign words there.

There are places that combine both. And I have found one of them. And that’s exactly where I’ll take you today:

Alp Wellness Teichalm

The name says it all. Alp Wellness. While writing the word it triggers endorphins in me and at the same time lets me be completely relaxed.

But what is Almwellness anyway and why is Hotel Pierer the perfect place to relax?

Together with my sister, I spent three wonderful days in the Styrian Almenland. It was also the first trip that we both made as sisters without parents or boyfriends. As soon as we left the highway in Frohnleiten, the forest, winding roads and pastures greeted us. I could’ve stopped at every turn to take pictures.

Upon arrival at 4* Superior Hotel Pierer we were warmly welcomed with a drink and accompanied to our room. Whereby room is an auxiliary term for what awaited us:

Our Romantic Suite Deluxe

Wood and warm feel-good colours dominate the 65m² dream suite. In the bathroom, you could waltz without any problems and then relax in the spacious bathtub. The terrace offers enough space for morning sports and a private sauna to end the day in the evening. The minibar is as big as a closet.

My sister and I immediately agreed: we could stay here much longer than three days – and not only because the suite is bigger than our apartments.

My favourite spot

After the sun was smiling so wonderfully, we couldn’t spend more time in the room (no matter how beautiful it is). And so we went on an exploration tour: pool, sauna landscape, relaxation rooms, roof terrace, … But I liked best the natural pond with its small peninsulas with comfortable wooden loungers and parasols:

But before we made ourselves comfortable on the deck chairs, we had to swim into the refreshing water:

Most of our stay at the Teichalm we actually spent right here. Wrapped in a bathrobe, enjoying the sun and with a good book in our hands. In the background absolutely no disturbing noises. Only from time to time the splashing of the water and the gentle ringing of the cowbells at the adjacent pasture.

The pleasure on the alp

Whether breakfast, lunch snack or dinner: Wellbeing is a top priority here.

For breakfast, you can indulge yourself at the extensive buffet with numerous local products from farmers in the surrounding area. At lunchtime, you have the choice between a light buffet, salads and snacks from the menu. And in the evening you can really enjoy your meal! The multi-course menus leave nothing to be desired – especially the exquisite desserts.

A massage like in heaven

The highlight of our stay in this temple of well-being, relaxation and enjoyment was clearly the herb massage: soothing scents, pleasant background music and the best hands one could wish for. After several bad and mediocre to good massage experiences, I must admit that this massage was by far the most relaxing I have experienced to date.

More experiences at Teichalm

Alp Wellness wouldn’t be Alp Wellness if the concept wasn’t thoroughly thought through. And so you can relax at Teichalm not only in the wellness paradise of the Hotel Pierer, but also do and experience many other things:

Hiking on the Teichalm

The Almwellness Hotel is surrounded by numerous hiking trails. Easy and fast like up to the Heulantsch, up to more demanding tours on the Hochlantsch or picturesque landscapes like in the Bärenschützklamm – here every hiker will find a suitable route. Ask at reception, they are happy to help you find a suitable one for you.

Tuesday nights at the LAHÜ

The Styrian among you will probably know the legendary Tuesday nights at the LAHÜ (Latschenhütte). Parties Austrian style! Good music for dancing and singing along – be sure to stop by!

High ropes course

Alm Erlebnis Park is also an excellent place to get rid of excess energy. High above the forest floor, there are various high rope climbing routes, from easy to very demanding. My favourite was probably the course Number 7, consisting of rope slides in the treetops.

What we thought of Almwellness Hotel Pierer

The Almwellness Hotel Pierer Teichalm not only reads like a dream here on the blog, but it is also a dream and outshines all the other hotels that I had the pleasure to get to know. The concept Almwellness succeeds not only due to the perfect location and the facilities but also due to the attentive and courteous staff.

It is perfectly suitable for those who are looking for a short break in Austria and want to have a lot of nature around them. The wellness area can also be enjoyed as a day guest. The suites are of course perfect for couples in love.

Grüß dich, I'm Viki!

At Chronic Wanderlust, I write about my two great passions: travelling and diving – and have been doing so since 2013.

I usually spend a solid majority of the year travelling to experience extraordinary underwater adventures, taking road trips through countries I don’t know (yet) or exploring my home country of Austria.

As a certified divemaster, passionate underwater & travel photographer, road trip enthusiast and individual traveller, I collect unique moments all over the world.

I don’t believe that severe cases of wanderlust – aka chronic wanderlust – can be cured, only treated. On this blog, I want to show you how this can best be realised.
